Hillyard Partners with Altec to Provide Hurricane Relief in the South
In the aftermath of recent hurricanes that devastated parts of Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina, Hillyard and Altec have joined forces to offer critical support to those in need. Hillyard played an essential role by donating several pallets of hand sanitizing wipes, surface sanitizers, and disinfectants to aid recovery. Employees of Hillyard also made personal contributions of $2,460 to a hurricane relief fund, demonstrating their commitment to helping affected communities.
On October 6th, a semi-truck loaded with essential supplies—sent by Altec’s Saint Joseph division—arrived in Burnsville, North Carolina. The delivery, which included water, non-perishable food, baby supplies, generators, and coolers, was transported by Keane Thummel Trucking Company, a longtime partner of Altec. This facility has served as a central hub for distributing over 20,000 hot meals and other necessary items to Altec associates and community members in the hardest-hit areas.
Donations to the Red Cross are encouraged for those looking to contribute to ongoing relief efforts. As the community rebuilds and recovers, Hillyard, Altec, and their dedicated teams remain steadfast in supporting the region. Together, these efforts reflect the resilience and strength of the communities they serve.
