Hillyard Proudly Participates in United Way of Greater St. Joseph’s 2024 Campaign: "Better Days Made by You"
Hillyard is proud to participate in the United Way of Greater St. Joseph’s 2024 Campaign, “Better Days Made by You.” As a long-time supporter of the United Way, Hillyard is once again stepping up to improve lives through the caring power of the community.
This year’s campaign, co-chaired by Doug and Carol Walter, kicked off on September 5th to raise funds to support critical local programs and services that benefit families and individuals throughout Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. Hillyard is proud to be part of this initiative, helping advance United Way’s mission to strengthen the community and create lasting, positive change.
Hillyard’s Workplace Campaign
As part of the 2024 campaign, Hillyard hosted a workplace initiative, offering employees the opportunity to donate to United Way through payroll deduction. Employees had the chance to hear directly from United Way Ambassadors Megan Murray and Jana Campbell and Campaign Co-Chair Carol Walter, who spoke about United Way programs' significant impact on the community.
“Hillyard is proud to support the United Way campaign and be a part of something meaningful,” said Brett Carolus, Hillyard's Chief Administrative Officer. “92 cents of every dollar donated goes right back into the community, ensuring our contributions make a real, tangible difference in the lives of local families. We’re excited to continue our longstanding partnership with United Way and encourage everyone in the community to get involved.”
Impact of United Way
United Way of Greater St. Joseph focuses on improving lives by supporting 17 local Partner Agencies and seven Initiatives that address both immediate needs and long-term challenges in the community. By giving, advocating, and volunteering, Hillyard employees and the broader community help ensure that essential programs, such as those providing food, shelter, and healthcare, continue to serve individuals and families across the region.
United Way’s mission is “Improving lives through the caring power of community.” By supporting the campaign, Hillyard employees are not only helping to address current community needs but also tackling the root causes of the most pressing issues.
Campaign Kick-Off and Employee Engagement
Hillyard kicked off its participation in the campaign with several opportunities for employees to gather, learn more about the United Way’s initiatives, and discuss how they can make a difference. As a special thank you to its employees, Hillyard provided lunch from Vogel’s Burgers, Pizza & More Food Truck.
